Visits : By appointment Château Tour du Moulin is a very old family estate that once nearly disappeared. It is situated a few hundred metres from the church and village hall of Saillans, on a plateau that overlooks the valley of the river Isle. Over time and with the succession of the generations, the estate was split up and dispersed, to become only a shadow of its former splendour. The new owners took over in 1987, with the aim of restoring this wine to its previous glory.

The Château Tour du Moulin vineyard is special in that its soil types are very diverse, which makes the wines complex and balanced. The vines are managed using both traditional and innovative techniques: the vines are for example still ploughed through respect for the heritage which they represent. What is more innovative, is the use of environment-friendly methods of pest and weed control, which also protect the full flavour potential of the grapes. To ensure balanced growth, new areas of the vineyard are planted with new generation cloned vine plants, and some rows are grassed.

The vines are also widely thinned out and their leaves are removed. The future vision of Château Tour du Moulin involves a constant focus on continuous improvement.
