It is a true mosaic of nuances, where all the types of soil of the appellation are represented as well as all possible orientations in relation to the sun.

The slopes are sharp and some are even worked in a series of terraces. The vines are cultivated here with traditional methods and tractors with caterpillar tracks.

Up on the chalk plateau, the rock often shows through at the surface and the shallow stony soil even supports the growth of a few black truffles in the middle of the vineyard.

Château Cassagne Haut-Canon La Truffière wines represent the production of this varied vineyard at its best. Careful sorting, strict selection, customised wine- making in each tank, this constant quest for the best technique can be best seen in the highly detailed blending operation, which is a true work of art, striving to find the most harmonious blend, so that the breeding, strength and wealth of these wines can be expressed with all their complexity of nuances and their very great elegance.
